For my research into my chosen career, I started looking at current bloggers and the work they do. I read a lot of blogs, and mostly all of them are full time, meaning that blogging is their source of income. Most have a new post daily, and have advertisers and brands paying them for their services. Wether this is to show their adverts one the site, or a brand led post about a product. Blogging has become the easy way to express
you’re opinions about a brand, whether that’s good or bad. Blogging has become
a great platform for young people to talk about things they are passionate about,
fashion, beauty, food and fitness. I will talk about how brands approach
successful bloggers to collaborate, to create more awareness and over all
profit for the company.
A lot of successful bloggers are now looking to management companies for support. The main managements for social talent at the moment is Gleam Futures. They manage the biggest British 'social talent' getting them involved with lots of opportunities. With currently 28 different clients, they keep manage them and their time, traveling with them and organising projects.
I then went on to looking more in depth at successful bloggers. These are the 4 bloggers I chose, Lily Pebbles, Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup, Amelia Liana and Victoria from In The Frow. These are all blogs I read on a daily basis, and look up to for inspiration in my own work. A long with their great content in text, their images are well laid out, and link well with their post.
All these bloggers use social media as a way of promotion. Bloggers and Youtubers are using
social media to their advantage. They are using social networking sites to
promote themselves and their posts.
With over 1.23 billion current Facebook users, if a blogger promotes their blog post on the site, there could be endless people who will click, read, and be interested
in the content of the blog post. Bloggers use their own images to add to their
Facebook posts, promoting their brand led blog post. Also adding relevant hash
tags to tweets about the products, building a great community of fans, and fulfilling
followers’ requests are just some of the ways brands can keep up their social
media status successfully. Being able to relate back to the reader is vital to keep up page views.
All these factors are things I need to consider if I plan to go into blogging full time. I know that it will not be an over night thing, but I am willing to work hard at it and keep up my good content. After a year and a half I understand the hard work I need to put in, but I am passionate about blogging and want to take it further.
